Effect of Loading Rates on Mechanical Characteristics and Rock Burst Tendency of Coal-Rock Combined Samples

According to the universal law of thermodynamics, failure any substance is closely related its energy change. Understanding strain and rock burst tendency or coal under different loading rates critical in many geological projects, such as mining, tunneling, other underground engineering project. The mechanical evolution characteristics coal-rock combined sample uniaxial compression were numerically investigated. And, was also calculated by Rock Burst Energy Index KE. results show that with increase rate, total input energy, elastic dissipation all an increasing trend. But growth trend different. five rates, KE between 1.5 ≤ < 5. That is, they have weak tendency. And index increases first then decreases rates. This study provides references for propulsion speed working face field mining practice.
